Mary Magdalene

First of all let me state this - I am in no way whatsoever implying that Mary Magdalene was the lover, wife, widow, or mother of the children of Jesus. Jesus was the sacrifice for mankind's sins to be absolved - a sacrifice must be pure. Ergo, in my opinion, all the theories that she was anything other than a platonic loving disciple are ridiculous.

Of all the disciples and followers of Jesus, Mary is given the most precious gift of all - she is first to witness the Resurrection and to proclaim it.  A common misrepresentation of Mary is that of prostitute.  No where in any passage of the Bible does it name Mary as a prostitute. It does say that she was possessed of seven demons and that Jesus cast them out.

(Mark.16-9 Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week,
he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.)

I do believe that she was the Beloved Disciple referred to in the Bible; I believe she was more instrumental in spreading the Gospel than is taught in conventional Christian churches; I believe it likely that the Gospel of John is actually the Gospel of Mary. There are links below that go to sites where people more learned than I have studied ancient texts and records and give good argument and evidence to support these theories. I therefore leave it to you to read their research.
